Museu d’Art Contemporani d’Eivissa (MACE) presents an exhibition by Australian artist William MacKinnon, titled Broken Open.
This work represents a personal transformation and an in-depth exploration of the artist’s inner change, with the unique light, landscape, and atmosphere of Ibiza becoming essential elements in his creative process. By capturing the specific energy of the Balearic terrain, his practice continues to navigate the intersection between physical geography and personal experience.
This exhibition is part of the MACE FOCUS VIII program. Curated by Elena Ruiz, Director of MACE, the show comprises thirteen works in large format created between 2022 and 2025.
The result represents a dialogue between the artist’s inner world and the Mediterranean landscape, offering visitors a fresh look at Ibiza as a territory of physical and metaphorical transformation.
