Urban Art Biennale 2026

The World Heritage Site Völklinger Hütte in Germany is currently hosting the Urban Art Biennale 2026, where Spanish artist Ampparito has presented a new, large-scale site-specific work. On view until mid-November, this edition repositions the industrial history of the former ironworks as a direct dialogue with contemporary urban art forms.

Ampparito’s piece occupies the roof of the Burden Shed, using the industrial surface to project a conceptual statement. The installation spells out the phrase “NO HAY NADA DE VALOR” (“There is nothing of value in here”), subverting a common everyday message used in Spanish cars to deter thieves.

The work acts as a brilliant, ironic commentary on heritage and value, hiding the message in plain sight. It is a piece designed for perspective, fully readable only from the industrial site's 45-meter-high viewing platform.
